About Me

Nathan Hilder
I am a native Minnesotan and have lived in and around Minneapolis most of my life. I studied art at the University of Minnesota and exhibited with the Circa Gallery in Minneapolis for many years. I have collectors across the US as well as in Paris (France) and Bergen (Norway). I live on 5 acres just north of Minneapolis where I also have my art studio. Most of my work focuses on my first love, the human form and "psychological portraiture". Recently I have been creating abstract works inspired by natural objects and my love of the natural world. My art is in the European Romantic tradition and I am inspired by artists such as Balthus, Klee, Giacometti, Arthur Dove and Marsden Hartley. To contact me about my artwork or inquire about a studio visit, email me at: nathan.hilder@comcast.net
